Emir calls for increased govt commitment to welfare of persons with disability

The Emir of Karaye, in Kano State, Alhaji Ibrahim Abubakar II, has called on both government and private individuals, to make more commitments to the welfare of persons living with disability (PWD).

The Emir made the remarks on Monday, in Karaye, when he received Ali Daneji, the Senior Special Assistant to Gov. Ganduje, on PWD and Chairman, PWD Enlightenment Committee, on Voter Card Registration, at his Palace.

Abubakar II emphasised the need for all tiers of government and private establishments to double their efforts to the upliftment of disabled persons, by creating more job opportunities and providing affordable health care services and accessible buildings and structures.

The Royal father applauded the PWD for their determination to enlighten their members on the need to possess Voters Cards, describing it as the major tool for the exercise of their civic responsibility.

Earlier, the Senior Special Assistant on PWD and Chairman of Enlightenment Committee, Ali Daneji, said that they were in the palace to seek the Emir’s royal blessings in carrying out the enlightenment campaign.

He described the campaign to their members in Karaye Emirate, to fully participate in the ongoing voters card registration exercise. as a move in the right direction.
