APC launches grassroots campaign councils in Anambra

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Anambra State has launched grassroots campaign councils across all 21 local governments, 326 wards, and polling units in preparation for the November 8, 2025, governorship election.

APC governorship candidate, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu, disclosed this after a strategic meeting with stakeholders in Awka.

He explained that the councils were established to mobilise voters and galvanise support at the most local level, ensuring the party is well-prepared to confront challenges from the ruling All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).

Each polling unit, he said, will have a 30-member council, while wards and LGAs will each have 25 members.

These structures will eventually feed into the State Campaign Council, which is expected to drive the party’s final election strategy.

Ukachukwu noted that the move was also a corrective measure after what he described as intimidation and manipulation during the August by-elections in Anambra South and Onitsha North 1.

He urged APC leaders and elders to rise above division and ensure the party’s machinery is united.

State APC Chairman, Chief Basil Ejidike, echoed this view, saying the party had learned its lessons and was determined to “take over Government House” in November.

He urged members to be disciplined, coordinated, and committed to securing victory.

The meeting, attended by party leaders across senatorial zones, marks the APC’s most significant reorganisation since the by-elections, with Ukachukwu expressing optimism that the new strategy would deliver a decisive win.
