Singer Paul Okoye, aka Rudeboy, has condemned the negative use of social media, which he described as destructive.
According to the popular artiste, the trend is growing wildly among other Nigerian youths.
He lamented that those who use social media mischievously for clout are treading a dangerous path.
He warned that such misuse is likely to destroy many people.
On his Instastory, the singer wrote, “Social media is going to destroy a lot of people… You might think it’s just cruise, clout, or to trend… Your eye go clear.”
Social media use in Nigeria remains largely unregulated, as there is no official regulatory body.
There have been calls in some quarters for social media regulation, following widespread cases of cyberbullying, fake news, hate speech, and defamation.
