Nollywood actress Ini Dima-Okojie and her husband have welcomed their first child, a baby boy.
The actress shared the news on Wednesday in a heartfelt birthday message posted on her social media page, revealing that she recently became a mother and describing the experience as the most transformative chapter of her life.
Rather than marking her birthday with her usual themed photoshoot and glamorous celebration, Ini chose to share a photograph taken on the day her son was born, saying the moment held far greater significance than any previous birthday milestone.
“Instead, I’m sharing a photo from the day my son was born. The day my life changed forever. Because as special as every birthday has been, this one feels different. This year, I celebrate as a mother,” she wrote.
The actress reflected on the realities of motherhood, admitting that caring for a newborn had tested and strengthened her in ways she never anticipated.
“There is no role I have ever played that has humbled me, stretched me, challenged me, or filled my heart quite like this one. These past weeks have been some of the most beautiful, overwhelming, exhausting and rewarding of my life,” she said.
Ini also described her son as “the cutest boy with the sweetest dimples,” adding that getting to know him and watching him grow had been the greatest gift she could have received.
“Watching him grow, learning him, loving him and caring for him has shown me strengths I didn’t know I had. It has also given me an even deeper appreciation for mothers everywhere. The newborn phase is no joke, and I definitely didn’t fully understand what was waiting for me,” she added.
Expressing gratitude for her new role, the actress said she felt honoured to have been entrusted with the responsibility of raising her child.
“I feel incredibly grateful that God chose me for this responsibility and entrusted me with such a precious life,” she wrote.
She also thanked family, friends and supporters for their prayers, encouragement and kindness throughout her journey into motherhood.
