INEC lists political parties, candidates for Nov 8 Anambra guber poll

 


The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has listed the names of registered political parties and their candidates cleared to contest the November 8, 2025, governorship election in Anambra State.

The list of the parties and their candidates was pasted at INEC’s headquarters in Awka, the state capital.
The commission cleared 15 political parties and the names of their respective governorship and deputy governorship candidates.

The names of the political parties and their candidates as pasted on the entrance gate of the Electoral Body on Monday include the Accord Party (A) (Onyeze Chidi Charles/Izuaka Uju Rosemary); Action Alliance Party (AA) (Nweke Ezechukwu Japheth/ Obi Elvis Anayochukwu Livinus); African Action Congress (AAC) (Ifemuludike Chioma Grace/ Igboanugo Udoji Friday); All Progressives Congress (APC) (Ukachukwu Nicolas Chukwujekwu/ Ekwunife Uche Lilian).

Others are the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) ( Soludo Chukwuma/ Ibezim Onyekachukwu Gilbert), Allied Peoples Movement (APM) (Otti Cyprian Echezona/ Ezeigwe Chuka Samuel), Action Peoples Party (APP) (Nweke Christopher Chukwudubem/ Okeke Blessing Ebele), and Boot Party (BP), which also includes Okeke Chuka Jerry and Ugboma Happiness as governorship and deputy governorship candidates, respectively.

Also listed were those of the Labour Party (LP) (Muoghalu George Nnadubem/ Okoye Chiedozie Alex); New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) (Onyejegbu Geoffrey/ Agbanusi Ugochukwu Godson); National Rescue Movement (NRM) (Ndidi Christy Olieh/ Egbe Ekene Reginald); Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) (Ezenwafor Jude/ Obianyo Patrick)

Social Democratic Party (SDP) (Chukwurah Vincent/Osita Atueyi Vanatius); Young Progressives Party (YPP) (Sir Paul Chukwuma/Okagbue Uzuegbunam Izuchukwu) and Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) which governorship and deputy governorship candidates were Ugwoji Uchenna Martin and Obi Chibuzo Faith as governorship and deputy governorship candidates respectively.

A source close to the INEC office in Awka said that on Friday evening, the commission’s national headquarters transmitted the list of the approved political parties and their candidates to the state headquarters.

The source pleaded to remain anonymous and said, “We only pasted it this morning (Monday) because today is the first official working day since we received it. We closed work on Friday when the list arrived.”
