All is now set for the 52nd National Association for Physical, Health Education, Recreation and Dance ( NAPHER-SD), National Conference and Workshop, holding from 17 to 21 September 2024 at the National Open University of Nigeria Hall,, along Nnamdi Azikiwe Express Way, Jabi, Abuja.
With ‘Shape Nigeria’ as theme of the Conference, sub-themes include, Sports and Physical Activity for National Fitness and Wellness, Physical Activity for poverty alleviation, health education, wellness and mental well- being.
Others are Anthropometry and establishment of National fitness. Normative data across life span, mental alertness self defence and security. Dance, music and choreography and Tourism, recreation and leisure in the Nigeria we want.
Lead Paper to be presented by Brig. Gen. Abdul Bello, Directorate of Army Physical Training, Nigeria Army, Abuja while Dr. Patricia J. Naraai (rtd), Directorate of Domestic of Ec-Tourim of Tourism, Abuja, will do justice to the second paper.
Chief host, is Prof Olufemi Peters, Vice Chancellor, National Open University of Nigeria while NAPHER-SD, Abuja, is the host.
Professor Nebath Tanglang of National Open University of Nigeria is the key presenter.
The Seminar Local Organizing Committee ( LOC) has Dr. Ayo Abdulrahman as chairman while Dr Samuel Ogbondeminu, National Institute of Sports, Abuja is the Facilitator.
Professor, Florence Adeyanju, who just returned from France where she attended the just concluded Paris 2024 Paralympic Games as leader of Team Nigeria Delegation to the Games, is the National President of NAPHER-SD while Dr. Franz Atare is the Secretary General.
