
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) on Thursday, charged a 26-year-old man, David Augustine to a Federal High Court in Lagos, over alleged drug trafficking.
The defendant is to be arraigned on a one-count charge marked FHC/l/119c/2022.
The Prosecutor, Mr. Jeremiah Aernan, said that the defendant committed the offense on Jan. 21.
He alleged that Augustine was arrested under a bridge at the Obalende area of Lagos, on a tip-off.
According to him, a quantity of cannabis Sativa weighing 100g was recovered from the defendant when he was arrested.

Cannabis is classified as a restricted narcotic similar to cocaine, heroin, and other hard drugs all listed in the schedule of the NDLEA Act, as being prohibited.
The offense contravenes the provision of Section 11 (c) of the NDLEA Act, Cap N30, Laws of the Federation, 2004.
No date has been fixed for the arraignment of the defendant.
