
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) on Tuesday charged two men, Sunday Egbide and Emmanuel Nwaka, in a Federal High Court Lagos over alleged drug trafficking.
Nwaka, 36, and Egbide 38 are being tried on a one-count of unlawful transport of cannabis Sativa, a restricted narcotics similar to cocaine and heroin.
The Prosecutor, Mr. Jeremiah Aernan, alleged that the defendants committed the offense on Jan. 16.
Aernan said that the defendants were arrested at the Ojota area of Lagos on a tip-off.
He alleged that security operatives arrested the defendants as they unlawfully transported the restricted narcotics weighing 17kg.

Aernan said that the narcotics were conveyed in a white Peugeot Boxer vehicle with registration number GGB235YC and chassis number VR3233J5215464134.
He said the offense contravened the provisions of Sections 11(b) of the NDLEA Act Cap N30 Laws of the Federation 2004.
No date has been fixed for the arraignment of the defendants.
