My former party members poisoned my mind against Peter Obi – Bashir El-Rufai

Bashir El-Rufai, one of the sons of the immediate-past governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai has made a U-turn concerning his views on the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi.
Known for always bashing Obi on several platforms, Bashir on Monday said he was misled by members of his former party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Bashir had earlier shared a post praising Obi on his X account and described the politician as “a great leader”.
A netizen, however, became curious and queried Bashir for praising Obi, who he is known for always antagonising.
Responding to the X user, Bashir wrote, “Peter Obi is surprisingly not a bad person after all. I was being deceived by my former party members. My views have since changed on this matter.”
Netizens believe that Bashir’s new stand is connected to the detection of his father from the APC to the Social Democratic Party (SDP).
Earlier today, the former governor announced his defection from the APC, citing a change in the ideology of the ruling party as his reason for shifting allegiance.
