Gunmen have killed two persons and set ablaze the Divisional Police station in Enugu state.
The two victims include a police officer and a civilian who came to lodge a complaint at the station
The incident happened in the early hours of Sunday when the rampaging gunmen invaded Inyi community in Oji River local government area.
An eyewitness said the gunmen riding in two vehicles invaded the Inyi Divisional Police station, Oji River Local Government Area in the early hours of Sunday, 9th October, 2022.
According to the witness, “the gunmen numbering of six stormed the station and opened fire. The incident caused serious pandemonium but they were telling the passers-by not to worry that they didn’t come for them.”
“After several minutes of heavy shooting, they set the one-storey (police) building ablaze, as I’m talking to you now, the station is on fire.”

“When they left the scene, we counted two bodies on the floor, they must have been hit by bullets because we know one of them and he’s not a police officer.”.
“They came with two vehicles, silver and black coloured,” the witness added.
