TSA exit: Banks now wooing FCT with billions – Wike

Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has said that commercial banks have been wooing the FCT Administration with billions of naira since its exit from the Treasury Single Account (TSA).

Wike said this in a video shared by TVC.

He revealed that a bank had offered the FCTA the sum of N150bn.

“I can tell you, since the president removed us from the Treasury Single Account, I can tell you the amount of pressure that banks have been putting here.

“Yesterday, I saw a letter from the bank offering to give us N150 billion. I was laughing.

“It takes leadership, political leadership, and political will to have seen the merits of pulling out of this in order for you to leverage our finances to develop FCT.”

ThisNigeria reported that President Bola Tinubu had approved the removal of the FCT from the TSA.

According to Wike, the move will allow him to use the FCT’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) for the development of the nation’s capital.
