Tambuwal denies alleged resignation as PDP govs’ forum chair

The Governor of Sokoto State , Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has denied claims that he resigned as the chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party Governors Forum.

Tambuwal was alleged to have resigned as the the chairman of the party’s forum on Thursday, while the Oyo state governor, Seyi Makinde was reportedly reinstated as the new chairman at the PDP National Executive Council meeting which held in Abuja on Thursday.

Reacting to the purported report in a statement signed by the Director General of the forum, CID Maduabum on Friday, Tambuwal denied the claims as untrue.

The statement reads” This is to inform the general public and stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party , that the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party Governors Forum (PDP-GF), Rt Hon. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, has not resigned as Chairman of the Forum contrary to some media reports.

“Members of the PDP GOVERNORS FORUM are working behind the scenes to resolve all contending issues concerning the Party. To this end a meeting of the Forum will soon be convened,”
