The Theater Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria has asked its members and directors in the association not to working with Nkechi Sunday Blessing and Iyabo Ojo over derogatory statements made by Iyabo Ojo against the body and the industry.
The body in a video that has gone viral also threatened to frustrate any of its members that deal with Nkechi Blessing Sunday, Iyabo Ojo out of the industry.
Veteran actor, Jide Kosoko, speaking on behalf of the member Board of Trustee at a press briefing on Sunday, said that Iyabo Ojo and Nkechi Blessing are not registered members of TAMPAN.
He said: “The attention of the Board of Trustees of TAMPAN and Elders of the Motion Picture Industry, especially of the Yoruba sector, have been drawn to the malicious damages being done to our sector by some unruly individuals that lack any iota of discipline and seeming to feel to be above the law.
As you may be aware, certain unpleasant things have happened lately that have dragged the name of our association, TAMPAN in particular, and the industry in general in the mud, which in totality are against what we stand for as individuals and as a group of professionals.
We particularly observe the continuous derogatory statements made by Iyabo Ojo against the Association and the industry as a whole.
“Unfortunately, Nkechi Blessing has also joined in the Ignoble tirades against the Association and by extension, the industry and we say enough is enough! If you think you’re above the law [of TAMPAN], we can get you out in our way. You can quote me. Nkechi Blessing has been suspended — because she’s not our member. But we will work against her in this industry”.
Nkechi Sunday Blessing and Iyabo Ojo have been vocal in the Baba Ijesha rape saga.
Recall that Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo of the Ikeja Special Offences Court granted Nollywood actor Olarenwaju James (alias Baba Ijesha) bail in the sum of two million naira and two sureties.
