MC Oluomo reportedly appointed head of Lagos Parks Management Committee

Suspended Lagos Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Musiliu Akinsanya a.k.a MC Oluomo has been reportedly appointed as the Head of the state’s Transportation Parks and Garages Management Committee.

This was announced by his son, King West via his Instagram page on Friday.

He wrote “Congratulations boss. Alhaji King Musiliu Akinsanya Ayinde. The GM/MD of Lagos State Transportation Parks and Garages Management Committee. Oye a mori oo”

ThisNigeria reported that MC Oluomo was suspended by the NURTW over “insubordination and misconduct bordering on inciting members of the union against the national body.”

He was also accused of  “incitement to violence and planning attacks on branches that refuse to obey his order of not accepting directives from the national headquarters of the union.”

However, Oluomo, during a press conference on Thursday, responded to the suspension by dumping the union and asking the state government to take over activities of motor parks in the state to avoid crisis.

He also suggested the setting up of a committee, pending the resolve of the matter.

“We hereby call on Lagos State Government to take over the running of the affairs of the union with the constitution of a park Management Committee for Motor Garages and Parks in the state, thereby ensuring peace and tranquillity, pending the determination of the matter in the interest of the good people of Lagos State,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Lagos State Government has announced the suspension of NURTW from the state.

”After considering the provisions of the law, the Government hereby suspends the activities of NURTW, which must cease to operate in all parks and garages in Lagos State.

“The Government will set up a Committee to immediately take control of the parks and garages. Members of the committee will be key stakeholders in the sector,” the state Commissioner for Information, Gbenga Omotoso said in a statement.
