There is anxiety in the agrarian community of Ikakumo in Akoko North-East local government area of Ondo state, as farmers are now staying away from their farms due to incessant farmers/ herders clashes.
The recent incident involved a 40-year-old farmer, Idowu Bayode who was macheted by two herdsmen on his farm.
According to the victim, who was in his hospital bed, he went to his cashew plantation where he met two persons already plucking the cashew into sacks.
He said suddenly they attacked him with their cutlasses, while he cried for help and his brother came to see him in his pool of blood.
The chairman of Ikakumo, Festus Omogboye said there was a siege in Ikakumo presently as people are afraid to come to their market.

He said farmers are also afraid of going to farm without moving in groups.
The community leader, Prince Foluso Aminu said indigenes of Ikakumo outside are afraid of coming home due to incessant kidnapping, armed robberies, and farmers/ herders clashes.
Aminu said Ikakumo being a border town with Edo state deserves more fortified security,
The Divisional Police Officer, Ikare Superintendent of Police, Olatujoye Akinwande confirmed arrest of a suspect in respect of the case
