Alhaji Aliyu Wamakko, the National President of Real Estate Developers Association of Nigeria on Tuesday said the introduction of REDAN seals is to check land racketeers, posing to be Developers.

Wamakko, a retired intelligent Customs Officer in a press conference in Abuja said that the Association is working with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and Department of State Security Service to curb this set of persons who sometimes  take to social media, flyers with attractive offers to defraud prospective home-seekers.

He said members Estate nationwide will be endorsed to ensure standardization, value and confidence to homebuyers.

“The introduction of these REDAN Seals is meant to serve as Mark of credence and to distinguish accredited Real Estate Developers from others who are mostly land racketeers, posing to be Developers and members of REDAN using the social media, flyers with attractive offers and other medium to ostensibly entice and convince prospective home-seekers and the public of the genuineness of their activities.

“The use of the REDAN Seals, is part of our Self Regulating mechanism, will give more credibility to business of our members and recognition to the Association’s documentation process.”
