Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike has questioned those criticising the 27 Rivers All Progressives Congress (APC) lawmakers’ reluctance to show loyalty to the Governor, Siminalayi Fubara.
In a media chat with Channels TV, Wike asked why Fubara should expect the lawmakers to do his bidding when the governor isn’t loyal to him.
The Minister said that although he was aware of the lawmakers’ plan to defect, he lacked the authority to stop them.

“The lawmakers are loyal to me but he [Fubara] is not loyal to me. They said they wanted to go to APC and I have no right to stop anybody. You know one thing people will say is that I’m aware that they left to the APC. Fine I’m aware because they are loyal to me.
“Some of them came to talk to me and they told me to beg the lawmakers to do some things and I said do you want them to obey me? They said Yes. I said what about the other person [Fubara] should he not obey me?
“They are saying he [Fubara] should assert his right but the lawmakers cannot assert independence. You see, people blow hot and cold at the same time. Anybody who supports an ingrate is naturally an ungrateful person.”
