Third Mainland Bridge to be closed for 3 days

The Federal Controller of Works in Lagos, Mr Olukayode Popoola, has announced a three-day total shutdown of the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos.
In a statement on Wednesday, he disclosed this stating that the bridge will be closed from midnight Friday to midnight Sunday to enable the contractors to carry out a special repair work.
Further, he said the construction had reached a stage where there should not be any form of movement or vibration on the bridge for concrete casting. He also mentioned that traffic officials would be deployed to alternative routes to ease the flow of traffic.
“The first total closure of the section of the bridge between Adekunle and Adeniji Adele will be from midnight of Friday, 9th October 2020 to midnight of Sunday, 11th October 2020 to enable the contractor finish the first stage of casting works,” Popoola said in the statement.
Popoola also prepared commuters for the second part of the closure that will be between Adekunle and Adeniji Adele.
In addition, he said that the bridge between Adekunle and Iyana-Oworo will be open such that traffic can move from Ebute-Meta to Iyana-Oworo and vice versa.
