TICC launches seven-day campaign to honour Osun political violence victims

The Imole Campaign Council (TICC) has announced the commencement of a seven-day solidarity and public awareness campaign in memory of victims of recent political violence and killings recorded in Osun State.
In a statement issued on Thursday by its spokesperson, Pelumi Olajengbesi, the council said the initiative was aimed at honouring those who lost their lives in the attacks and drawing attention to the need for justice and the protection of democratic rights.
The council alleged that the victims were killed in politically motivated attacks carried out by thugs linked to the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing the incidents as tragic and condemnable.
TICC called on its members, supporters and other stakeholders to actively participate in the campaign by promoting messages of peace, justice and respect for human life. It stressed the need for collective efforts to prevent further violence and safeguard the democratic process in the state.
The group also appealed to the Commissioner of Police in Osun State to conduct a comprehensive investigation into the incidents and ensure that those responsible are identified and prosecuted in accordance with the law.
As part of activities for the campaign, the council encouraged supporters to display a designated solidarity image on their social media platforms and adopt it as their WhatsApp profile picture throughout the seven-day period. Participants were also urged to use the hashtag #ProtectOsunVoters to amplify calls for accountability and justice for the victims.
According to the council, the campaign is intended to keep public attention on the incidents while ensuring that the memories of the victims are preserved and that demands for justice remain prominent.
