President Bola Tinubu has appreciated the critical role played by the Niger Delta region in the nation’s economic development and pledged to support the region in ensuring the successful execution of projects for the good of the people.
Tinubu pledged at the weekend when he received a comprehensive update on the ongoing activities and initiatives in the Niger Delta Development Ministry from the Minister, Abubakar Momoh.
The President, who expressed keen interest in the Ministry’s endeavours, commended the Minister for the progress made and the dedication exhibited in addressing the unique challenges faced by the region.
He pledged unwavering support and assistance to ensure the successful execution of projects and programmes that would bring about sustainable growth and improvement in the lives of the people in the region.
While providing a comprehensive update on the ongoing activities and initiatives in the Ministry to the President, the Minister in a statement by his Special Assistant on media, Osigwe Omo-Ikirodah, said the ministry is poised to leverage the President’s commitment to further advance its mission of fostering holistic development, infrastructure enhancement, and community empowerment in the region.
He explained that the meeting was aimed at seeking the President’s support and commitment towards the sustainable development of the Niger Delta region.
According to the statement, the Minister highlighted the vital projects and initiatives undertaken by the Ministry to uplift the socio-economic landscape of the region.
He presented a detailed overview of ongoing infrastructure projects, community development programs, and efforts to address environmental concerns in the Niger Delta.
