Tinubu, AFREXIM Bank Boss, ADB, others to speak at Anambra Investment Summit 2024

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is to lead a crop of eminent and seasoned National and global investors, financial experts, industrialists, tourism adventurists as well as high-profile business moguls for the second Anambra Investment Summit 2024.
Already, a flurry of activities has been lined up by the State government in collaboration with key business, industrial, development and investment partners to explore and exploit the huge investment opportunities in various sectors and potentials packaged for the Summit.
Expectedly, hordes of renowned investors, financial and business experts, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) experts, solid minerals, oil and gas magnates; tourism gurus, industrialists and professional bodies including the small and medium scale business ventures are to converge on Awka the state capital.
They are to brainstorm on ways towards tapping the huge natural resources and human endowments as well as the development index of the state to help leapfrogging the state to becoming a beacon of hope for national and global business and investment berth or destination.
Speakers at the historic event with the theme; “Changing Gears: Accelerating Anambra Economic Transformation” are to enrich the discussion with various paper presentations at the International Convention Center (ICC) Awka.
Among the speakers at the epoch-making event slated for 14th November 2024 are President Tinubu and other top officials of the federal government, the President of AFREXIM Bank, the Country director of the African Development Bank, corporate institutions and professionals on investment, strategic development and industrialists.
Managing Director of the Anambra State Investment Promotion and Protection Agency (ANSIPPA) Hon. Mark Okoye, flanked by the state Commissioner for Industry Mr Christian Udechukwu and Information Commission, Dr Law Mefor stated this during a press conference held at the ANSIPPA headquarters in Awka.
He said the epoch-making event is in line with the vision and agenda of the State Governor, Prof Charles Soludo to make the state the preferred investment and business destination.
Okoye pointed out that to achieve the Solution agenda some pillars had been set within the past 31 months the governor has been on the saddle as governor.
He explained that the administration has embarked on massive infrastructural development, particularly the construction of targeted 400 kilometres of road networks, human capital development through the One Youth Two Skills programme, improved health sector, building new cities, reclamation processes, ease of doing businesses and other productive ventures.
Other areas include approved free education policy at all levels of primary and secondary schools to build a new tomorrow for the state, creation of an enabling environment by putting in place adequate security strategies for guaranteed peaceful coexistence, business development and for industries to thrive.
Already, Anambra State parades over 62 major markets across its 179 communities in the 21 local government areas of the three Senatorial districts, with huge investment potentials, land mass for industries and companies, water, minerals, and large quantities of gas and crude oil.
Recall that the 1st edition of the Anambra Investment Summit was held on 7th September 2023 in the state.
Okoye said the summit would further boost the strong desire of the state towards partner investors towards building a viable and sustainable power supply to enhance its business, investment and industrial potentials to put a stop to frequent power outages due to the still troubling collapse of the national grid.
He stated that the summit would afford Governor Soludo the ample opportunity to showcase what he has done within the over three years in office and to open the window to people of Anambra State in diaspora, investors, development partners and the state’s Investment Development Corporation as well à other areas of interest.
“The summit aims at reporting on all that were signed on agreements during the last summit in 2023.”
“It was the governor’s view that we come after one year to give an account of our stewardship and also give a report of where all the projects we conceptualized and executed are since that time and now.”
The ANSIPPA boss noted that “the governor has a very systematic and studies ways to developing investment opportunities and ensuring that Anambra achieves the proposal of becoming the hub for industrialization, investment and innovation.”
Among the projects to be showcased at the summit are the real master plan of the state, the Awka mega City plan, the plan of a new City at the bank of River Niger, the Five Star Hotel, the Solution Innovation District and Anambra Investment Development Corporation as well as other things the government has embarked upon that can stand the test of time.
The summit is also to feature a speech by the African Export-Import Bank; a project introduction on understanding the Anambra mixed-use industrial City, the Signing of agreements and project discussions on meeting Anambra Energy Needs and an exhibition tour; amongst several others.
