The statement added, “Similarly, Mr. President also approved the following to fill existing vacancies in some critical agencies of the FCTA.” They are Abdulkadir Zulkarfi, Coordinator of the Satellite Town Development Department; Chief Felix Obuah, Coordinator of the Abuja Metropolitan Management Council; and Oladiran Olufemi Akindele, Coordinator of the Abuja Infrastructure Investment Council, AIIC.

“Also, to strengthen the bureaucratic structure of the Federal Capital Territory Administration, Mr. President equally approved the appointment of the Head of the Civil Service and Permanent Secretaries in the FCT Civil Service.
“Mr. Atang Udo Samuel is appointed as the Head of the Civil Service and the following as Permanent Secretaries:  Dr. Adam Babagana from North-East; Wanki Adamu Ibrahim from North-East;  Asmau Mukhtar, North-West; Dogo Aliyu Wadata Bodinga, North-West and Olusa Olusegun, South-West.”

Others are Adetoyi Rabiu Kolawole, South-West; Grace Adayilo, North-Central; Olubunmi Olowookere, North-Central;  Ibe Prospect Chukwuemeka, South-East and Okonkwo Florence Nonubari, South-South.

The statement stated that the appointments would take immediate effect, as the appointees would be sworn in on Monday, March 18, 2024.

Recall that this was one of the three approvals of Mr. President early in his administration.

There were the early requests of Nyesom Wike as he resumed as minister of the FCT.

This douses the expectations and anxiety among the FCTA bureaucracy. With this, staff of the FCT Administration can now rise to the pinnacle of their career and not retire whenever to rise to the position of director.
