A group, Tinubu Support Group, TSG, has said they have decided to do everything within their powers to ensure Chief Bola Ahmed Tinubu emerges as President of Nigeria come 2023 election.
Its Director-General, Arc. Umar Ibrahim Muhammed told the steering committee during their inauguration to be up and doing as this is a time to elect a candidate that has all it takes to lead Nigeria to greater heights.
He said with the experience the former two-time governor of Lagos state has garnered, he is best suitable to continue from where President Muhammadu Buhari will stop.
According to him: ”This is a time to elect a man that has the capacity and the political will to institute a concept of governance and a new agenda of sustainable development. To provide effective leadership capable of providing solutions to the numerous challenges confronting the nation.
”The kind of leadership Tinubu provide as governor of Lagos was responsible for the development index in the whole South West and it was itself remarkably impactful. The enormity of massive social-economic transformation and lasting institutions he bequeaths as legacies that adorned the landscape of the state has remained a phenomenal watershed.
”It is on this note that TSG is going by the given narrative. We in the TSG therefore, call on Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to avail the nation of his enormous wealth of experience, outstanding and visionary leadership in politics to contest the 2023 presidential election. The quest to call on him is further derived from BAT’s tremendous phenomenon of leadership which has created so much impact on lives”, he noted.
He said he commended members of the state steering committee who have just been inaugurated on their well-deserved appointment to sustain and justify the confidence reposed in them by their appointments.
” Now, as a single structure with common objectives and aspirations and goals, we must work together. As you returned to your states, you are to constitute your ward, local government structure who must be men and women of proven integrity and capacity to deliver. We must ensure proper harmonization of all interest groups into a formidable structure as a support base. You must ensure a level playing group and fair representation for all-inclusive participation.
Also, Hon. James Faleke who represents Ikeja Federal Constituency in his speech during the Inauguration of the TSG States Steering Committee in Maitama, Abuja said President Muhammadu Buhari needs someone who can continue the projects he is executing in Nigeria, saying only BAT, fits into the shoe of continuing the vision for Nigeria.
He said Chief Tinubu has paid his dues for Nigeria having served as two-term Governor of Lagos state and also as Senator, he is best qualified to fly the flag of the APC in the 2023 general election.
He said:” On behalf of Tunubu Support Group, I congratulate members of our steering committees. And I appreciate dignitaries and our supporters from the East, West, Nort, and South of our great country Nigeria for this historic occasion. Two years into the second term of the administration of President Buhari’s remaining four years, and in line with the constitutional provision, our party has come to the point today, where it must prepare the ground for an orderly transition from this APC government to another APC government.
”This is not negotiable. Our party must go into the next election with determination to win fair and square, We must mobilize the voters to see the gains of continuity. Our party must give hope that we must continue to provide the greatest good for the largest majority of our people. Why is this important, is because of the solid achievements with transportation, mass housing, and improving road networks. Health and so many other programs.
”We must present a candidate that can secure our votes for 2023. A man who knows where the shoe pinches the average Nigerian. Not because he has been there but because as the governor of the most difficult and complex state in Nigeria, he put smiles on the faces of the poor by convincing the rich to join the government and chase out poverty from the streets.
”It is often said that history nurtures a particular person who fits into the need of a particular time. Our party is therefore lucky that it doesn’t need to go on a wide goose chase for the man to fly our party’s flag in this challenging time. A time that the presidency of Nigeria must go to a man who can end banditry. To crush kidnappers and engage separatists. So, that our people can live in peace and prosperity”, he said.
He said further that time has come for a man who knows where the challenges lie with Nigerians most especially on biting unemployment, insecurity, and other forms of criminality to step in and assist to arrest the situation before it consumes everyone.
”The solution is to look for a candidate who has demonstrated the capacity for solving social economic and political problems. A patriot and a performer. A knowledgeable leader. And a head hunter. A thinker and a doer. An auditor and a legislator. A man with an analytic political intellect. A man of deep compassion and selfless generosity. A man who has been tested and trusted. A true federalist. A financial strategist. A visionary beyond illusion.
”We have discovered a man who has developed many leaders from Councilors, Chairmen, members of the house of assembly, Senators, House of Reps, Ministers, Governors, and Vice President across African countries not only in Nigeria. We are talking of a man who has groomed leaders leading including me and many others seated here today.
All his disciples and our families have no other reasons at this crucial time than to be loyal to a man who gave us food when we were hungry. A man who gave us water when we were tasty. A man who gave us opportunities when we didn’t stand a chance.

”We have discovered a man who is ready to sacrifice all he has for his fatherland. A man who has a comfortable control of the entire South West and six solid governors yet threw everything for an alliance with President Buhari with 12 million votes but with one governor. To build a new pan Nigerian political party of their dream.
A man who ran a state that gives opportunities to citizens for appointive and elective positions on merit without regard to their religion, ethnicity, or clan. This is a man who left office in 2007 yet is popular to date. Because he is focused, consistent, and has been the central figure of Nigerian politics”, he added.
The occasion saw different groups and members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in attendance from different parts of the country. There were moments of musical interlude to keep party members alive to the whole inauguration.
