
Chairman of Heirs Holdings, Tony Elumelu, has denied a report that he is being lined up as the next governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
A member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Imran Muhammad, in a tweet said that Elumelu is likely to be the next CBN governor.
“According to a source, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is also considering Tony O. Elumelu as CBN Governor,” Muhammad posted.

However, Elumelu responded to the post on his X page by simply saying “LOL. No, please. This is false news!.”
President Bola Tinubu is yet to appoint a substantial CBN governor since Godwin Emefiele was unceremoniously removed from the position.
