The Ogun Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE) on Tuesday tragedy were averted as a 40-feet container fell at the Ado-Odo/ Ota local area of the state.
The Sango-Ota Area Commander of TRACE, Mr. Adekunle Ajibade, who confirmed the incident to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ota, Ogun, said no life was lost in the accident.
Ajibade said the accident, which occurred at about 7. 00 a.m., attributed it to speeding and reckless driving.
“We thank God that no life was lost in the lone accident which involved the container,” he said.
Ajibade said the container had no registration number and the driver had absconded before TRACE personnel and other sister agencies got to the scene of the accident.
The area commander warned motorists against speeding and ensure that their vehicles were always in good condition before putting them on the highways.

He further urged owners of articulated trucks and containers to always caution their drivers against speeding and wrongful overtaking to prevent mishaps on the road.
Ajibade stressed the need for truck owners to always tighten their containers to the vehicles to avoid falling on the highway, which might result in loss of life.
He said the container had been towed off the road to ease the flow of traffic in the area. (NAN)
