Trinity guy: Inappropriate skit with minor not a big deal, says Yomi Fabiyi

Nollywood actor, Yomi Fabiyi has appealed to the Nigerian police to temper justice with mercy towards skit maker Abdillahi Adisa, also known as Trinity Guy
Recall that the police arrested the skit maker after a video of an inappropriate skit he made with a minor, where he asked her to describe his genitals, went viral.
However, he disclosed that the skit was made in agreement with the parents of the minor.
Following his arrest, the Force Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi confirmed that the skit maker will be charged in court on Monday for sexualizing a minor.
Reacting to this, Fabiyi appealed to the Force to be lenient with Trinity Guy, adding that pranks are works of art and expression.
Also, he implored the police not to trample on the rights of Adisa by illegally detaining him or initiating an unfair trial.
He said “If we talk now, some will say I am supporting dangerous pranks or abuse of children. I will appeal to the police to deal with this matter under the ambit of the law and not social media sentiment.
“I think that what the society wants is caution and re-direction of his style of pranks. Do not initiate any “ERASE CULTURE” just because you want to correct it.
“Minors are used as warfighters in movies but in whole life it is criminal. If the necessary consent is taken before involving a minor with no direct or extreme methods that may lead to punishable acts as enshrined under the CHILD PROTECTION LAWS, safe to say we all including the police should CORRECT HIM WITH LOVE and, not TRAMPLE ON HIS RIGHTS by illegally detaining him, initiating unfair trial etc.
“The police cannot judge him, charging Jim to cour is the simple civil and dignifying procedure. Do not see it as punishment or an end to his career.
“Moderation and counselling for better and healthy content is my own goal here. @adejobimuyiwa please the right charges and if none, police caution is lawful.
“Do not allow for the destruction of this guy’s life, career and means of livelihood. His intentions are clear. My humble submission.”
