Police in Anambra State have arrested two men, whose ages are 61 and 27 years for allegedly raping four minors of the same parents, in Nnewi the commercial town of the state.
The minors were left in the care of the two suspects by the children’s mother.
It was learned that the children whose ages are 11months old; 5 years old; 7years old and 10years old were defiled at various times by the men when their mother left them in their care to go to the market.
Police Public Relations Officer of the state command, DSP Toochukwu Ikenga in a statement on Monday disclosed the names of the suspects as Peter Ezeala ‘M’ 61years of Mbano, Imo State, and one Elochukwu Igwilo ‘M’ 27years of Ekwusigo Local Government Area, Anambra State.
Ikenga said Police had rescued the four children and also arraigned the suspects in court.
Commissioner of Police, in the state, CP Echeng Echeng however enjoined parents/guardians to exercise the utmost discretion in deciding in whose care their children/wards are kept.

“CP gave this advice Monday, 21st March 2022, following the arrest and interrogation of two suspects- one Peter Ezeala ‘M’ 61years of Mbano, Imo State and one Elochukwu Igwilo ‘M’ 27years of Ekwusigo Local Government Area, Anambra State.”
“The suspects were arrested for their alleged involvement in a case of defilement of four minors aged 11months old; 5 years old; 7years old and 10years old respectively. The incident occurred in Umudim, Nnewi, Anambra State on 5th, March 2022.
“Investigation reveals that the mother of the victims, a trader, always leave the children under the care of the suspects whenever she was away at work. Unfortunately, the suspects capitalized on this to take undue advantage of the children.”
He said the suspects have been remanded in a Correctional Services Centre, after their arraignment.
