Court cases against me politically driven – Sowore

Omoyele Sowore, the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), has described the criminal cases against him as politically motivated, insisting that they would not deter his activism.
In a statement issued on Friday, Sowore said he was scheduled to appear before two separate courts on the same day over different matters linked to his political activities and public comments about President Bola Tinubu.
According to him, he was standing trial alongside 13 others at the Kuje Magistrate Court for participating in a protest demanding the release of Nnamdi Kanu.
Sowore also disclosed that he was expected to appear before Justice M.G. Umar in another case, alleging that the judge was seeking to convict him over remarks he made about President Tinubu.
The activist maintained that the prosecutions were aimed at intimidating him but vowed to continue his campaign for what he described as justice and freedom.
“Regardless of these politically motivated prosecutions, the struggle for liberation cannot be stopped. No amount of intimidation, harassment, or judicial persecution can silence the demand for justice and freedom,” he said.
Sowore further declared that the ongoing legal battles would not weaken his resolve, insisting that the “liberation struggle continues.”
