Uncertainty as gunmen kill popular billionaire in Anambra

Uncertainty has enveloped residents of the commercial town of Nnewi and adjoining towns in Anambra state following the sudden death of popular billionaire Chief Gab Ofoma.

Chief Ofoma who until death was the Chairman/CEO of Ofoma Associates Ltd and Ojemba Enwe Ilo of Nnewi was shot dead by unknown gunmen on Sunday.

The Port Harcourt, the based businessman was said to have visited his Umunnealam, Umudim, Nnewi country home and was going back to Rivers State when the gang of armed men swooped on him.

Chief Ofoma was shot at a boundary community along Ukpor- Lilu- Orsumoghu- Azia- Mbosi Road which connects Anambra State to Imo State.

The personal driver of the deceased was said to have made a detour from the Onitsha-Owerri highway en route to Port Harcourt, due to the traffic gridlock on the highway when the incident happened.

Late Chief Ofoma was a senior estate surveyor and valuer with a conglomerate of estate/ surveying firms and offices in Port Harcourt, Nnewi, Abuja, and Lagos, which employed employing over 150 staff.

Police Public Relations Officer of the state command, DSP Ikenga Toochukwu could not be reached for comment on the incident.
