Students of the University of Calabar, UNICAL, have apprehended a suspected phone thief identified as Israel Mark Samuel.
The report came that the suspect was allegedly caught by residents of Hall 4 Hostel alongside the student’s security outfit, Man O’ War on Tuesday, June 1.
The suspect said he is a native of Nsit-Ubium local government in Akwa- Ibom state but resides at No. 53, Mount Zion Street, Calabar.

According to police, Israel, who confessed to the crime said he is neither a student nor a business operator on campus but specializes in going into student’s rooms to steal phones and other valuables according to him.
After interrogation by the Man O’ War, the suspect was appropriately handed over to the University’s security for further investigation.
Meanwhile, the Students Union Government President, Sen. Ugah James Ugah has urged students to be very vigilant while assuring them of maximum security throughout the Students Union Week.
