Former world No. 1 Venus Williams has hinted that she will soon return to the Tour
Williams, 41, has not played in five months as her last appearance came at a WTA Chicago in August. Williams has been taking her time to heal injuries and to get her fitness back to 100 per cent.
Williams, now ranked at No. 464 in the world, did not make the main draw cut for the Australian Open but she was granted a wildcard. Unfortunately for the Australian Open organizers, Williams skipped the opening Grand Slam of the season.
Williams held a Q&A session on Instagram and one of the questions was about her comeback. “I’m doing great. What about you? just fine? Oh yeah, I’m glad I asked,” Williams said. “More than anything, I am, guess what gearing to get back on tour. Can’t wait.”
Williams was asked about the role her father, Richard, played in her life. Williams revealed her father taught her about the importance of self-confidence. “Of course, it feels great when someone has confidence in you and but dad always had confidence in us, but also he taught us to be confident in ourselves, most importantly, so you can be ready for this world of haters.”

William said. In a separate Instagram post, Williams advised fans and followers to constantly try to find ways to better themselves and grow. “Every day is a new opportunity to better yourself,” Williams wrote. “I feel that if I live life this way, I will be able to look back at life with no regrets.”
Williams didn’t enjoy a great season last year but she is not ready to walk away from the game. Williams posted a 3-9 record last year. Williams was on a six-match losing streak before she won her Wimbledon opener. Williams was beaten in her last two matches of the season. It remains to be seen when will Williams return to action.
