VIDEO: No ethnic group owns monopoly of violence – Woke

A former Chief of Staff to the Rivers State Government, Engineer Emeka Woke has warned that no ethnic group owns the monopoly of violence in the state.

Woke stated this at Thanksgiving event in Port Harcourt on Sunday.

The recently resigned Commissioner for Special Projects under the Governor Siminalayi Fubara administration also warned those fanning the embers of ethnic strife in the state to desist from doing such before it goes beyond their control.

“Let me warn that those who live in a glass house shouldn’t throw stones. Those fanning the embers of ethnic war should know that no group has the monopoly of violence.

“We have the capacity to mobilise thousands of people to occupy Port Harcourt. Let the people fanning embers of war know that,” he said.

He also stated that the rift between Wike and the state Governor, Siminalayi Fubara was a ‘father and son” issue.

“When Peter Odili was in office, he was hailed. When he left, he was painted black. Same with Amaechi, now with Wike. That is how life is. Nobody is fighting anybody. They told us that it is father and son quarrel,” Woke said.
