Some personnel of the Nigeria Police Force stationed at Magodo Estate Phase II defied Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s order to vacate the residential area on Tuesday.

The governor had visited the estate following a protest by the residents over the presence of over 50 policemen.

Sanwo-Olu invited officials of the estate’s Residents Association, the police and the parties that secured a Supreme Court judgement to take over the estate to a meeting at his office on Wednesday, 5th January.

He then ordered the policemen to vacate the estate pending the issue was resolved.

However, the order was defied by the leader of the squad who claimed that the Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba gave the directive for the officers to remain in the estate.
