Soludo’s governorship inauguration to last 20mins

The inauguration of Prof.Charles Soludo as the next governor of Anambra on March 17, 2022, is to last for only 20 minutes.
Mr C-Don Adinuba, the state Commissioner for Information and Enlightenment said on Wednesday in Awka that a lot of activities would be shelved during the swearing-in.
He said, “the public, traditionally comprising entertainers and the rest who cannot perform any useful roles, are not expected.
“Of course, there will be family members, party and officials who will be served with finger foods, water and beverages.
“The entire ceremony will last some 20 minutes,” he said.
Adinuba, who equally functioned as the Director, media and Publicity to Soludo 2021 Campaign Organisation said only 50 persons would feature at the inauguration.
Soludo, a former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, had earlier said that the inauguration would be low key.
But the out-going Governor, Chief Willie Obiano, had in several public functions said that the inauguration of his successor would hold at 10,000 seater International Conference Centre, Awka being constructed by his administration.
Mr Joe Anatune, Media Assistant to Soludo, told reporters that the practice of hosting crowd and having fanfare would no longer be the case adding, “what is of concern to us is to hit the ground running”.

A politician, Udochukwu Anieto, said that barring people from catching a glimpse at the new governor while he took his oath of office might not go down well with the public.
“Barring people from participating at such a mega state functionn will be and obviously it will force people to insinuate many things that might not go down well with government,” he said. (NAN)
