Keyamo: Infrastructure critical to aviation growth

The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has said improved infrastructure is critical to achieving sustainable growth in Nigeria’s aviation sector and positioning the country as a major aviation hub in Africa.
Keyamo made the remarks at the 67th anniversary celebration of Aero Contractors, themed “Going the Extra Mile,” held in Lagos on Monday, October 5, 2026.
The development was posted on the social media platforms of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority on Tuesday.
The minister said the Federal Government was committed to upgrading airport infrastructure, navigation facilities and aircraft maintenance capabilities as part of efforts to strengthen the aviation industry.
According to him, the investment drive aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which seeks to position Nigeria to compete more effectively in the global aviation industry.
Keyamo stressed that deliberate infrastructure development would provide the foundation for long-term growth and sustainability in the sector.
Also speaking at the event, the Director-General of the NCAA, Captain Chris Najomo, congratulated Aero Contractors on its 67-year journey and commended the airline for its resilience and contribution to Nigeria’s aviation industry.
