What I’d have done if Tinubu gave me National Award, Sowore reveals

The 2023 presidential candidate of the African Action Party (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, has revealed what he would have done if he was listed among the recent recipients of the National Award issued by President Bola Tinubu.
Recall that Tinubu on Thursday announced national honours for dozens of Nigerians as part of events marking democracy day.
Following the announcement, journalist, Rufai Oseni of Arise Television had earlier pointed out that Tinubu should have honoured Sowore and some other Nigerians for their contribution during the June 12 struggle.
“For me, President Tinubu has done very well today by recognising those in the struggle of June 12th and the pardon of the Ogoni leaders.
“Although I feel people like Dele Momodu, Sowore, and others should also be on that list.”
Reacting via his Facebook page on Friday, Sowore said he would have dragged the president to court if his name had appeared on the list.
“If I were mistakenly included by Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his ‘National Award’ list, I would not only reject and denounce the award but also take definitive legal action for defamation,” the Human Rights activist wrote on Facebook.
His declaration caused diverse reactions as netizens took to his comment section to praise or knock him.
