Who is your preferred presidential candidate?

Owoh Akaninyene Anthony, Lawyer, Abuja
Well, I have to first warn you that my answers are going to be very biased for the simple reason that I’m a realist. First, I would have preferred the likes of Osinbajo or Peter Obi because I trust their capacity and capability but it is what it is. Osinbajo didn’t win the primaries just as Obi left a party with a nationwide structure. I may not know what Tinubu has to offer but I think he will win. This is premised on the fact that it’s the turn of the South. Atiku will give him a good fight though and Peter Obi won’t stand a chance considering the party on which platform he will be running.

Bearing in mind that the long-awaited primaries have been conducted and concluded, looking at the Political Parties critically and the yearnings of Nigerians, I believe it is high time we all come together and look at how can we save this country? With a GDP of 0.8 and a debt of N41. 6Trillion we can’t afford to make mistakes this time we have to look at the person with the track record, ability and credibility to perform, desire and energy to perform, and also the ability to deliver on his electoral process and the election itself. I think out of all the candidates, Dr Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso is a good choice. I also hope the third force can come together and have a single candidate so that they can mobilise resources and human capital to rescue Nigeria from the hands of the ruling parties and other parties responsible for our problems. This will take a lot of sacrifices and dedication in this regard.
Kubura Azaki, Businesswoman and Personal Assistant to the National chairman Of NNPP
My preferred candidate is His Excellence Musa Rabiu Kwankwoso because he has good intentions for the citizens. He has a lot of good things for the masses. During his tenure as a governor in Kano state, he proved to be a credible and reliable person. He created employment opportunities for the youths and I am sure when he becomes president of Nigeria, he is going to ensure things are better in the country.

Peter Obi of course will be Nigerians’ choice. We have been struggling to survive, many people have been idle because they lost their jobs and this present government administration is not in their favour. Obi stands from a more vantage position, he is well articulated, smart, and interested in the growth of the nation. He served well as the governor of his State, he has the interest of the masses regardless of tribe or gender. He is an economist and can improve the economy from its bad state to a country that manufactures its products. Nigeria is religiously inclined when it comes to politics which is wrong. Obi is a visionary man and a leader. Laudable progress shall be recorded during his tenure as president.
Mr. Enoch, Civil Servant, Abuja
I will prefer the Labour party (LP) presidential candidate to win the general election. If you look at his personality, what he has done in the past, and what he stands for, I think he is best for Nigeria. He has better chances and solid credentials than others. I read on social media that EFCC tried to investigate some of his properties abroad to know whether he is the actual owner and how he got those properties and he presented all the papers. They couldn’t find any fault in him which shows transparency and accountability. One of the reasons why he left the PDP for Labour Party is that he didn’t have money to give to delegates. He is a man of integrity and Nigeria needs someone like him who is vibrant and ready to influence positive change.
Daniel Orji-Kalu, media mogul, Abuja
The youths of the Federation have come to conclude that they want someone competent and have opted for Peter Obi because he is someone who has proven to be diligent and consistent over the years. He is a clear choice and the elders are tilting towards tribalism instead of looking at the main point. Why go for someone who tends to suffer for eight years because he is from your tribe or religion? Instead of someone who can present a better 8 years.
Adedamola Rasak Kazeem, Architect, Abuja
Well, I am a very patriotic citizen, although I am a partisan political person. I know that the best person to stir the ship of Nigeria to flourish again is Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. My decision is based on his records of credibility, competence, fearlessness, and economical prudence. Thanks.
