The House of Representatives’ Committee on Economic and Financial Crimes on Wednesday queried the leadership of the Commission for omitting property and recovered assets in their budget presentations.
Chairman of the Committe, Abdullahi Ibrahim Dutse, observed that property and recovered assets were omitted from the documents presented by the Acting Chairman of the commission, Mohammed Umar Abba
The Committee sought to know the level of capital funds released so far and the outstanding under the 2020 Budget.
Also, the Committee said it would draw attention to the challenges faced by commission for the House to intervene through the budget process.
The acting EFCC chairman, Abba, in his presentation, said there was an increase of N4.727 billion in the 2021 budget estimates of the commission from the 2020 budget.
He said the procurement process under the 2020 Appropriation was on going and that the fund would be utilised.
