The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has approved the promotion of 3,592 workers under the 2025 promotion exercise conducted by the FCT Civil Service Commission.

Chairman of the FCT Civil Service Commission, Emeka Ezeh, disclosed this while announcing the outcome of the exercise, saying the promotions align with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the minister’s commitment to improving the welfare of FCT workers.

Ezeh said the promotion examinations were conducted between July 1 and 3 for senior staff and on July 10 for junior staff.

He expressed appreciation to the minister for supporting the commission in carrying out its statutory responsibilities.

He further revealed that the minister has directed the commission to immediately commence the 2026 promotion exercise to ensure eligible FCT workers are promoted as and when due.

According to him, the directive complements the ongoing infrastructural transformation across the Federal Capital Territory, ensuring that civil servants also benefit from the activities marking the third anniversary of President Tinubu’s administration.

The commission chairman commended civil servants for their orderly conduct throughout the 2025 promotion exercise and urged those preparing for the 2026 exercise to emulate the discipline displayed by this year’s candidates.

He also appreciated the leadership of the Joint Union Action Committee (JUAC) for its cooperation during the exercise.

Ezeh advised prospective candidates for the 2026 promotion exercise to prepare thoroughly, stressing that promotion in the FCT Civil Service remains highly competitive and subject to the availability of vacancies.
