Minister of the Federal Capital Territory(FCT), Nyesom Wike has ordered the sack of 21 top officials of parastatals, agencies and companies owned by the FCT Administration.
This was contained in a statement issued by the minister’s Director of Press, Anthony Ogunleye, on Wednesday.
According to the statement, the sack takes immediate effect.
The statement read in part: “The Honourable Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Barrister Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, has relieved the heads of the following parastatals, agencies and government companies of the FCTA of their appointments with immediate effect.”
Those affected by the action included the Group MD/CEO, Abuja investment Company Ltd; CEO/MD, Abuja Markets Management Ltd; MD/CEO, Abuja Urban Mass Transport Company; CEO/MD, Abuja Property Development Company; CEO/MD Abuja Technology Village Free Trade Zone Company and CEO/MD Abuja Film Village International.
Others are the CEO/MD Powernoth AICL Equipment Leasing Company Ltd; the MD, Abuja Broadcasting Corporation; the MD, Abuja Enterprise Agency; the GM, FCT Water Board; the DG, FCT Emergency Management Agency; the Executive Secretary, FCT Primary Healthcare Board.

Also affected are the Director General, Hospital Management Board; the Director, Abuja Environmental Protection Board; the Director, FCT Scholarship Board; the Director FCT Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board and the Director, Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board.
Still on the list are the Coordinator, Abuja Infrastructure Investment Center; the Director, FCT Health Insurance Scheme; the Coordinator, Satellite Towns Development Department and the Coordinator, Abuja Metropolitan Management Council.
The statement directed them to hand over the affairs of their offices to the most senior officers in rank while appointments into the offices will be made in due course.
