A woman from Ede local government in Osun state has refused a free surgery to remove her goitre, instead opting for the money.
The woman, identified as Mrs Folakemi, had initially sought medical help for her condition.
However, when doctors offered her free surgery, she refused, asking to be given the money raised for her by a Non-governmental Organisation (NGO).
It was gathered that after much pressure, the NGO gave her the N300,000 raised and she reportedly returned to her village.
