Ahead of Saturday’s Peoples Democratic Party, PDP convention in Abuja, activities are in top gear, preparatory for the main show.
When ThisNigeria visited the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, venue of the convention, construction workers were busy fixing the velodrome section of the stadium.
The 7,000 capacity velodrome was agog. Senator Philip Tanimu Aduda, the lone Senator from the FCT and member of the convention planning committee was sported supervising the construction works. He was later joined by Benue State governor, Dr. Samuel Ortom.
Meanwhile, Chairman of the convention planning committee, Former Senate President, David Mark will brief the nation Friday.
Posters have taken over major sites of the FCT. Around the stadium, posters are competing for space.
2023: Mass exodus hits PDP in South East
The posters of Sokoto State governor, Aminu Tambuwal and former Senate President and Kwara State governor, Bukola Saraki’s posters are in the majority, followed by that of Bauchi State governor’s Baka Mohammed.
Some hotels visited in Abuja confirmed that rooms have been fully booked and that by Friday they are expecting delegates to be fully on ground.
The manager of the hotel said that business has been good for all of them in the hospitality industry
