The Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH) says it will continue to strengthen security in the school environment to safeguard lives and property.
The Deputy Registrar of the institution, Mr. Joe Ejiofor, gave the assurance on Wednesday in Lagos.
Ejiofor said the college would be conducting checks and searches at the entrance gate.
He said the management would do its best in tackling insecurity, which he described as a major challenge confronting Nigerian society.
”Insecurity is now a national issue; there are cases of attacks, kidnappings, and banditry.
“The management is doing everything humanly possible, to guard against any eventuality.
”From now, it is compulsory for students and members of staff to come in to display their identity cards at the entrance gate for proper scrutiny.

“We are passionate about the safety of our own, as well as forestalling infiltration of intruders into the college.”
He said visitors to the college would equally be made to comply with the directive.
Ejiofor urged YABATECH students and staff to adhere strictly to the directive.
He warned that anyone without any form of identification would be denied entrance.
