Yes I do have a daughter, I had her through surrogacy, says Ini Edo

Nigerian Nollywood star and actress Ini Edo, has come out to speak about her having a daughter.

There were rumours that the 39-year-old lady had a daughter some time past

Speaking recently with Stella Dimoko Korkus, Ini Edo said that she was going to talk about the baby when she becomes a year old in no distance time but mischief-makers beat me to it and spoilt the beautiful story with lies.

She also said that she had tried having babies on her but had miscarriages and hope that one day she will bear a child with her womb.

Ini Edo also refused to disclose the father of the baby but said that she had the baby through surrogacy.

Ini Edo said: “Yes I do have a daughter and I had her through surrogacy. The eggs are mine and so genetically, she’s my blood.

“I was hoping to talk about her on her first birthday in a few months but mischief-makers beat me to it and spoilt the beautiful story with lies,”.

“It is so sad that in Nigeria when a ‘single’ woman is friends with a guy, it must mean to people that they are dating,”

“Kome has been my friend for years and that’s what it is, period. He is a responsible family man and doesn’t deserve to be dragged into my motherhood story.”

Ini Edo further noted that for her peace she chose to go for a donor and not look for a specific man and that she fears controversies between parents over the ownership of a child mostly when there is crisis in the relationship.

Ini Edo: “I opted for a donor for me and my baby’s peace of mind. Another major reason I opted for a donor is that it scares me so much when I see banter and controversies between a mother and a father over a baby in public forums or when I see the man insisting he wants his child if things don’t work out between both parties.

“For me it’s the fear of what that would mean for the child. Ideally, it’s marriage then children but we are not living in an ideal world.”

“I had a series of miscarriages in the past but that wasn’t my reason for going this route. I still hope to carry babies In my womb in the future, God willing,” Ini Edo concluded.
