The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Oyo State Command, has assured its citizens of zero gridlock before, during, and after the Yuletide celebration.
The Commander, Mrs. Uche Chukwurah, gave the assurance during the 2021 Operation Zero Rescue Simulation exercise on Tuesday in Ibadan.
The operation was to demonstrate the readiness of FRSC in the prompt rescue of accident victims.
Chukwurah said the Command had deployed enough personnel and equipment to ensure free flow of traffic during the Yuletide.
She further assured that the successes recorded in 2021 in terms of road traffic control and rescue operation would surpass that of 2020.
“One of our preparedness for this yuletide season is the conduct of this operation which is to show the readiness of FRSC in handling all issues of road traffic and crashes.
“This operation is to show the world and the people of Oyo how we can respond to accident victims promptly if it happens.
“You can see the high movement of vehicles in the Iwo Road area of the state, so there will be high visibility of FRSC personnel in collaboration with other agencies for hitch-free Yuletide celebration.
“We have already deployed our men throughout the state; we are going to ensure that there is no gridlock anywhere in the state,” she said.
