Yusuf approves N200m vehicle loan for primary, secondary school teachers in Kano

Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf has approved N200m as a vehicle loan scheme for teachers in primary and secondary schools across the state to boost staff welfare and motivate the teaching workforce.

The loan scheme is designed to assist teachers in acquiring vehicles, easing their transportation challenges and improving their productivity and commitment to duty.

During the flag-off ceremony for distributing instructional materials to public schools, Governor Yusuf disclosed that this was part of his administration’s comprehensive education reform.

We recognise teachers’ critical role in shaping our children’s future. This loan initiative is part of our broader strategy to support their welfare and uplift the teaching profession in Kano State,” the governor said.

The loan will be disbursed under transparent and flexible terms, targeting teachers who have demonstrated dedication and service in their respective schools.

 

*Distributes N2.8bn instructional materials to public schools

Meanwhile, in a significant push to revamp the quality of education in Kano State, Governor Yusuf has flagged off the distribution of instructional materials worth N2.8bn to public schools across the state.

The materials, which include laboratory equipment, sportswear and sports kits, books, attendance registers, and laptop computers, aim to enhance academic and extracurricular activities in schools.

The announcement was made during an official flag-off ceremony held in Kano, where the governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to restoring the glory of public education in the state.

“This is a strategic investment in the future of our children. We are equipping schools with books and the tools needed for science, technology, physical development, and digital learning,” Governor Yusuf said.

Yusuf reaffirmed his commitment to improving education’s infrastructure and human capital components, describing teachers as the foundation of lasting development.
