Gov. Babagana Zulum of Borno on Thursday inaugurated some township roads in Maiduguri estimated at N11 billion.

The roads were either newly constructed or rehabilitated.

Speaking at the ceremony, Zulum said the measure was in fulfillment of his campaign promises to the people.

He urged residents to bear with the government any inconvenience they might experience because of the construction work.

The governor added that his administration would continue to do its best to properly manage the scarce resources in the state in order to deliver people-oriented projects.

Some motorists and residents who spoke to newsmen lauded the project, noting that the road project will ease movement in the city.

They however urged the Borno Government to consider paying compensation where necessary.

Some of the projects include dualization of Ahmadu Bello Way, Shehu Sanda, Mogaram and Lafiya roads. (NAN)
