Agree on modalities for State Congress, APC directs Oyo stakeholders

The National Leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Thursday directed stakeholders in Oyo State to collectively agree on modalities for the State Congress immediately.

Sen. James Akpanudoedehe, National Secretary of the party’s Caretaker and Extra-ordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC), also directed them to report back to the committee within one week.

Akpanudoedehe said that the party CECPC gave the directive immediately after the meeting of stakeholders with the party’s leadership at the National Secretariat in Abuja.

According to him, the meeting followed the Oct. 30 APC State Congress held in Oyo State, which had thrown the state chapter into crisis.

The APC scribe, however, assured the stakeholders that the party’s leadership would take decision that would be in the overall interest of the party, particularly its members in the state.

Among stakeholders present at the meeting were Sen. Ayo Adeseun; Mr Adebayo Shitu, former Minister of Communication; Oloye Fijabiyi; Sunday Dare, Minister of Youths and Sports; Soji Akanbi; Bayo Adelabu and Joseph Tegbe, among others.
