A former presidential aide, Reno Omokri has backed President Muhammadu Buhari’s decision to pick the All Progressives Congress (APC) flagbearer for the 2023 presidential election.
ThisNigeria reported that Buhari, during a consultative meeting with the Progressives Governors’ Forum on Tuesday, expressed his intention to pick his successor in order to “strengthen the party’s leadership.”
Mixed reactions trailed the president’s decision, with some supporting it while others have described it as undemocratic.
Reacting, Omokri said that there was nothing wrong with President Buhari’s decision as the National Leader and Presidential aspirant of the APC, Bola Tinubu does same in Lagos.

“I don’t understand why Bola Tinubu’s people are murmuring that Buhari shouldn’t choose who APC’s presidential candidate will be,” Omokri tweeted.
“Who chooses who becomes a candidate of the APC in Lagos? Is it not solely Tinubu? What is good for Lagos APC is also good for national APC,” Omokri tweeted on Wednesday.
