The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Tuesday released the names of candidates eligible for the 2023 general elections.

This was confirmed in a statement by the National Commissioner in charge of Voters Education, Mr Festus Okoye.

The  list includes names of verified presidential, senatorial, and federal contituencies candidates which was uploaded on INEC’s official website.

The list contained 36 presidential and running mates of 18 political parties, and a total of 4223 to battle for legislative positions.

Okoye however stated that the list of candidates aspiring for gubernatorial and state constituencies election will be released on October 4th 2022 as indicated in the schedule of activities for the 2023 general election.
